Once a year, on your birthday, the Sun returns to the very degree it held when you were born, and a chart drawn for that moment, at the place where you are, describes the year that follows. This reading draws that chart for you and names every fixed star that stands on its planets and its angles, and the stars that were rising or at the height of the sky at the very minute your year began. Each is read with the planet or point it touches, the house it falls in and what it serves, for the year that runs from this birthday to the next.
The reading opens on the calculator page, below your chart. Your birthplace is used for the year’s chart until you name the place where you spend the birthday itself, and the chart is drawn again for it at once. It needs the day, the hour and the place of your birth, and it tells you the hour your year begins and ends, in the clock of the place where you spend it.
