Novelist and astrologer — author of Our Sidereal World: Selena and Lilith.

Anastasia Vertcliff, novelist and astrologer, author of Our Sidereal World: Selena and Lilith.

Anastasia Vertcliff was born in Central Asia and spent her youth travelling the world as a flight attendant. She built a career as an art curator — the work of arranging beauty until it means something — and made her home in the United States, the dream she had carried all along.

Astrology and tarot came to her not as doctrine but as instruments of introspection, a private language she has shaped entirely her own way. She writes from the same conviction that she reads a chart from: that a symbol earns its keep when it shows a person something about themselves they could not otherwise see.

The novel

Our Sidereal World: Selena and Lilith is a story of personal awakening — the masks we wear unwittingly, moving through the enfilades of experience, and shed on the way to our truest selves. It is set in Taura, a world watched over by two Moons, the White and the Black, sisters divided by a single blow. There the fixed stars come down and walk the roads wearing faces, eager to help, and not to be trusted.

The instruments

Everything below is free, and written by Anastasia Vertcliff.

  • The stars that walked with you — a fixed-star calculator that raises your natal chart and names the stars that stood within a degree of your planets and angles at birth.
  • The Book of Fixed Stars — eighty-one stars, each read as an image rather than an influence, with what it gives set down before what it asks.
  • Is your profession written in your birth chart? — a guide to the formulas of professions, a method you can check with a pencil.
  • Essays — on correspondence, causation, and what it would mean to test astrology honestly.
  • The Two Moons — Selena and Lilith in the natal chart, and the author's own reading of the sisters.
